Congratulations to Johnston Community College on being named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD). This milestone carries added significance across the Carolina Cyber Network ecosystem as Johnston Community College becomes the 20th CCN member institution to earn CAE designation.
That number reflects something much larger happening across North Carolina.
A coordinated statewide effort is producing nationally recognized cybersecurity education programs, stronger workforce alignment, and expanded pathways for students entering cyber careers. The continued growth of CAE-designated institutions across the CCN network demonstrates the depth of commitment from faculty, institutional leadership, industry partners, and students working together to build cyber capacity at scale.
