Carolina Cyber Network (CCN) and Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) celebrated a milestone in cybersecurity workforce development with a ceremonial signing honoring three students selected for internships with the NC Department of Information Technology (NCDIT).
Samuel Abling and Jacob Wright (current students in FTCC’s Systems Security and Analysis program) and program alumna Megan Harris officially began their NCDIT internships in October 2025. These placements mark a powerful start to CCN’s new partnership with NCDIT, designed to cultivate hands-on experience for emerging cyber talent across North Carolina.
The moment marks the launch for this state-level initiative, with Abling, Wright, and Harris representing one-third of the NCDIT/CCN program’s first cohort. This partnership supports NCDIT’s mission to strengthen North Carolina’s cyber defense while advancing career opportunities for students across CCN’s 23-member institutions.
“This is more than an internship. This is the launch of a new workforce pipeline that empowers students to protect our state’s digital future,” said Marcus Holley, Intern Program Manager at CCN.
We are proud to support these students as they take this pivotal next step and represent the strength of our cyber-education ecosystem.
